What startup is all about
MedicOpedia Health Care has a vision of providing the best treatment to patients worldwide at the most competitive rates. The treatment does not only include the modern medical process but also seek answers from the ancient wisdom of Indian Ayurveda and wellness. MedicOpedia believe in complete transparency and clients prosperity and well-being.

The reason for starting MedicOpedia was very simple. During one of a regular hospital visit for a health check-up of his relative Vidit noticed a large chunk of foreign nationals queueing up in a separate section of the hospital lobby . This amused him and he went up to one of them asking the reason for his presence at the hospital. To his surprise he said he was advised to come to India by his friend who had already been to India for a hip replacement surgery. He also stressed that there are people who fly down to India in thousands every year for getting treated for various reasons starting from regular health check-ups to specialised surgeries such as liver and kidney transplants.

This incident was fresh in the mind of the cofounder and he was really proud of the technological advancements his country had made in the field of medicine and science . A few days later on his visit to a busy suburban part of the capital city of Delhi he notices a group of neighbouring foreign nationals and their struggle to exchange their currency with the INR. Also their lack of knowledge of Hindi and English was making life even more difficult. He immediately stepped in and offered his help to the people and got their currency exchanged. Though he did not know their language he ensured that they got what they wanted and exchanged a big smile in return. But the more important fact of their gesture based communication was that even they had come to India for getting treated in reputed hospital chain whose one of the centre was in New Delhi.

This triggered him to search about such kind of experience and stumbled across the term MEDICAL TOURISM. Its history rooted centuries back when Greek pilgrims travelled from the eastern Mediterranean to a small area in the Saronic Gulf called Epidauria. This territory was the sanctuary of the healing god Asklepios.

Initially spa towns and sanitaria were early forms of medical tourism. In 18th-century patients visited spas because they were places with supposedly health-giving mineral waters, treating diseases from gout to liver disorders and bronchitis.

While all this may look like a service to the diseased and provide health care to the underprivileged in here lied a business opportunity too. A lot of people from the developed countries were also coming to India due to cost competitive rates for a various number of treatments. This is where the idea of MedicOpedia was formed.

On formulation of the idea it was ensured that that it shall be a solution for all health issues to all people worldwide at an affordable price without even worrying about the quality and at par with global health standards.

How are they different?
Their vision of providing the best and ideal/correct treatment to everybody is built primarily at understanding the person’s problems and providing them with a correct diagnosis of the problem. Post diagnosis the best estimates and the hospitals /doctors of that particular speciality is provided to the client within 48 hours . This is done with the wide amount of research and data they have collected over the past 15 months and also their close associations with the reputed hospitals. Currently they are working with TOP 75 hospitals (JCI-Joint commission international & NABH accredited) across the country.

Once the hospital has been finalised they also help with the suggestion of flights and booking of hotels and also provide complementary pick up from the airports. All this i.e. World class services, Treatment options , Panel of doctors , Wide range of medical services are all available at just a click of the button.

“ Being SIMPLE but providing ASTOUNDING Service” is the motto and they completely adhere to it.

Journey till now:
The journey till now has been enriching ,challenging and at the same time satisfactory . We have had clients from Nepal, Bangladesh , Oman & Tanzania . Our future plan is to cater to clients from other parts of Africa, Middle East and Oceanic Countries. For this we have now started building strategic alliances with people with their experience in health care, hospitality ,start-ups and even existing agents. The point is to create a platform based on inclusive and holistic growth for all our partners. End result will be a win-win situation for the partners and most importantly ouar clients.

Funding :
One of a close known acquaintance has invested in a seed fund for Rs 1 cr. There has been a share of equity in this process. Going forward once a minimum number has been achieved the model will be scaled and we shall go for a 2nd round of funding to potential investors.

With offices in  Mumbai , New Delhi and Nepal. they aim to be the top medical service provider across the globe.
